About Us

Our Beginnings
Impactiva was created in February 2003 with a Vision of becoming:

“THE Company for the Quality Assurance of Leather and Leather products”

During the following two years, Impactiva developed leading-edge systems, processes and procedures that made us a leader in the understanding of the world of leather.  We improved the efficiency and effectiveness of our Customers’ leather supply chains by eliminating +US$0.10 of waste and errors and by getting +98% of the square feet shipped, to arrive without problems at their shoe factories.  We worked directly for footwear factories such as Apache, Evervan, Golden Chang, Oleer, Shyang Hung Chen, Stella or major global brands such as Ariat, Clarks, Camuto Group, Rockport and Skechers. 

Using our deep knowledge of leather and materials as the foundation of our Company, in late 2004 we aggressively started growing our Footwear Quality Assurance (QA) Services.  In 2006, we then expanded into leather goods and in 2009 we launched our Apparel QA Service.

Today
In 2010, our Leadership decided to expand the breadth of our Vision by aspiring to become:

“THE Company for Quality Assurance in the Textile Industry
(apparel, footwear, leather goods, materials)”

Major brands from Asia, Europe and the United States trust us to ensure that their factories produce "Best-in-World" quality.   We assist you, our Customer, by helping you to:

  • Increase your sales by turning quality into a main selling point and a significant competitive advantage
  • Reduce costs by eliminating 3%-5% of waste-errors that exist in your supply chain
  • Decrease risks by cutting lead-times and claims (≤ 0.2% of product shipped)
     

We achieve this by employing the best Technicians in the industry (we hire less than 10% of the professionals we interview), training them at our learning centers in Chennai, India and Dongguan, China and permanently placing them at your suppliers throughout Asia, Europe and South America. 

Once part of the Team, our Technicians are provided with a rigorous, state-of-the-art learning program on “How to Perform Quality Assurance the Impactiva Way”.  Our Team Members are then provided with continuous education programs to help them become better leaders, communicators, and mentors.  The Company currently has a Team of more than 150 professionals performing quality assurance in suppliers throughout Asia, Europe and South America:

  • Technicians with a formal education in apparel, footwear or leather technology and a minimum of 5 years in the industry permanently stationed at your suppliers and material vendors
  • Tech Leaders who coach, mentor and lead up to 8 Technicians
  • A Production Leader who leads and manages all the Technicians and Tech Leaders
  • Technical Customer Account Management (TCAM) Coordinators responsible for defining all standards with all parties for each style in every season
  • A TCAM Leader who is the customer’s principal contact point and responsible for TCAM Coordinators
  • An internal Quality Assurance Team which recertifies Technicians every 6 months ensuring continued compliance with Impactiva’s processes and procedures
  • An Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Team which assist the customers, factories and Impactiva in recommending improvements to existing processes and procedures

Our leading edge systems, processes and procedures are revolutionary, yet simple, helping to teach and coach your suppliers, from owner to factory workers (whom we train and psychologically motivate to become artisans) so that the product is produced "Right the First Time".  
 
Our motto, "Achieving the Beauty of Art with Engineering Precision" is highlighted by the pride we take in deeply understanding our customer's esthetic look and fit requirements and by the precision we use to measure our performance and the quality of our work: defects found per each million units shipped.   Our service commitments are simple:

Confidentiality and Neutrality
Impactiva prides itself on being an integral part of our Customer’s Team and thus are privy to a wealth of information related to our Customer’s supply chain.  In order to maintain the confidentiality of said information, we are neither in the sourcing information business (i.e. we do not recommend factories or material vendors) nor get involved in our customer’s finance-logistics-customs transactions.  We do not perform the multiple functions of an agent/trader as we focus solely on the world of quality assurance.

Our Founders
Our Company was founded and is owned by:

Jose R. Suarez
Managing Director and majority shareholder who has been in the textile industry since 1991; Jose has a Bachelors of Science and Master of Engineering in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Stanley Motta
Owner of a large conglomerate based in the Republic of Panama consisting of airlines, banks, duty free, import/export, insurance and real estate.
